Tuatara Diorama

LI : Design an enriching enclosure for a Tuatara.

For this SLJ task I created a Diorama about a tuatara on a Google drawing , basically a Diorama is a piece of work you can do digital or you can do it at home using a cardboard box , if you are creating it at home here are the supplies you might need to create one :

  1. shoe box / cardboard box
  2. paper ( to draw out the pictures)
  3. sciccors
  4. pencil / rubber
  5. glue / hot glue
  6. vivid

the point is to create anything you like but for mine I did a tuatara and their natural habitat. One interesting thing I learnt about this task is that they are a well known reptile of Aotearoa they are sole survivours and are at the age of dinosaurs and apprantely people believe tuatara are basically dinosaurs since they lived back when they were here I guess we will never know ?

Haast Eagle Investagation

LI : Write a story or investigate the legend of Pouakai

For my daily task I was challenge by maniankalani to create a story or an Investagation on the Haast Eagle to prove they still live and not extinct  but we will see for one of my facts / evidence , some fossilized bones found in swamps and caves of the haast eagle across NZ in the South Island.

Anteaters vs Aardvarks – Step it up

LI : Compare differenrt animals ! Who will win each category ?

For todays task I created a google drawing about Anteaters and Aardvarks but different, there is a diffrent types of category’s like better fur , sharper claws , best habitat like that. We show a picture of the creature we pick and insert it into the box and then we explain why we chose them just for example : The best fur goes to a anteater : I picked an anteater because they have way more fur then a anteater and it can cover more skin when the weather gets cold and Aardvarks looks hairless.

Predator vs Prey – Step it up

LI : Who rules the food web ?

For this weeks task I was challenge to create a lion’s food web but connecting line of the animals that are listed. Green for the prey of a lion , Red for predator of a lion and Orange for both prey and predator. One thing I enjoyed about this task is that I actually learnt what a lions food web would look like and what it eats on its daily routine. I had really fun working on this.

Predator vs Prey – Kick Start

LI : On the African Savannah

For this weeks task we learnt about predators and preys of a lion to figure out one we were challange to use our smart searching skills to look up is one animal a prey or a predator or both to a lion and then give a reason why they are a prey or predator or both. One thing I really enjoyed about this task is that I get to learn the difference of a prey and predator and a apex predator which means both and learn more facts about a lion I can’t wait to continue my learning about preys and predators.

Predator Free 2050 – Step it up

LI: Create a predator pick-a-path quiz!

For this weeks task I created a google slide which goes to a quiz about predators and preys you have to guess which is the prey or predator if you get it wrong their is always a way to go back and have another go feel free to make your own one. Welcome to my quiz about predators and prey.

Predator Free 2050 – Kick Start

LI : Learn about NZ predators; possums, stoats and rats.

For this weeks task I was challange to make a interesting poster about predators of Aotearoa , for my poster I made it about a Possum I wrote all the facts about them and even their pawprint too. I was shocked while I was doing this task because I learnt more things about them like on how they act dead to stay away from danger that comes near them. One thing I really enjoyed about this task is to care for the predators of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Protect Tiger – Step it up

LI : Create an animation of your chosen tiger moving through it’s habitat. As an apex predator, they are often difficult to see in the wild – can you hide it?

For this weeks task Manaiakalani Cluster challenge me to create an animation on a tiger of our choice to show their natural habitat and what they do when they are hungry and when they hunt other animals. Here is my animation on a Bengal Tiger.

Protect Tiger – Kick Start

LI : Tigers are one of the most powerful predators. Learn some information about them and create a fact file on your chosen Tiger!

For this weeks task I learnt about a Bengal Tiger I created a google doc that make  fact file about them and links to site to learn more and photos of their very famous black and orange stripes and sharp teeth and their loud roar. One thing I enjoyed about this task and to learn how a Bengal Tiger can protect themsleves from other animals. This task was really fun to work on and excited for others coming each day.

Animal Tricksters – Step it up

LI: Design your own Animal Tricksters

For this task I was Challenge to design my own animal trickster , for my animal I picked a Alcon Blue Butterfly the reason why I choose this Butterfly because it’s a unique insect and I learnt that it can camouflage from animals who harm them and hunt. One thing I found interesting about this task is that a Alcon Blue Butterfly can is that when the caterpillar hatches it eats a flower then drop down to search for ants that’s so cool.
