Malala Yousafzai became an international symbol of the fight for girls’ education. She was born in Mingora, Pakistan on July 12, 1997. Malala rose to global prominence after surviving an assassination attempt by the Taliban in 2012. She has become a symbol of resilience, courage, and the worldwide fight for girls’ education.
